Members of the elite U. S. Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps round out the parade through downtown Monroe to Loranger Square at the opening of the National Fife & Drum Muster Saturday. Fife & drum corps from across the country travelled to Monroe to take part in the Bicentennial War of 1812 event, filling the square with a day-long performance of period music.
